Program

MSS has traditionally focused on the synthesis, processing and applications of modulated materials. With an initial concentration on semiconductor heterostructures, MSS has also encompassed the broader range of hybrid, modulated organic, spintronic, and biologically-based modulated structures. MSS12 topics include: heterostructures and superlattices, electronic, optical and magnetic properties of quantum wires and dots, spintronics and spin effects in nanostructures, organic semiconductors, physics and devices for quantum computation and communications, and novel modulated structures, including carbon nanotubes, biologically-based and molecular structures.

Proceedings

The Proceedings of MSS12 will be published as a special issue (consecutively numbered) of Physica E: Low Dimensional Systems & Nanostructures.

Collaboration

The 16th International Conference on Electronic Properties of Two-Dimensional Systems (EP2DS-16) will be held at the same time and location. Participants of MSS12 are entitled to attend sessions of EP2DS-16 and vice versa. There will be a few joint sessions on topics of common interest. Most social activities (excursion, banquet, etc.) will be arranged jointly.
